Very good stuff here. I exercise as much as possible but haven’t consistently measured my level of fitness and tracked it overtime. What’s the best way to measure your HRmax?

Luke - great to hear from you. HRmax can be estimated by various formulas - 220-age, 211-(age*0.64) as we get older. Garmin estimates your HR based on resting HR and workouts. Run a hard 5k. A max effort VO2 max test - increase incline and speed over 8-12 minutes or perform 4x4 minute Norwegian VO2 max efforts aiming for 85-90% effort first 3 minutes then near max in the last 1 minute and you’ll typically get an accurate max effort. Happy to chat further. I recommend making sure you feel good and don’t have heavy legs when trying such a session and of course - there are risks of injury with these efforts.
